Hey, my name is Justin.

As a pre-med college student who is passionate about home cooking, I enjoy creating content surrounding cooking, food, and public health topics in order to allow others to live a more healthful lifestyle.

Here’s a little background about how I got here…

While I have always enjoyed being in the kitchen since I was really young, my mom had historically done almost all of the cooking. Here and there I would make some little dessert, side dish, or breakfast for the family to try, but nothing too crazy. However, in the fall of 2019, I began my first year of community college, and with newly gained independence and responsibility, I began to spend much more time deciding where and how I’d consume my food. As cliché and cheesy as this may sound, I decided that this wasn’t something I should take lightly. So, I started cooking.

At first, it began with making different egg dishes for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and pasta dishes for dinner. While relatively easy to whip up (obviously cooking shouldn’t have to be difficult), I enjoyed how much I was able to customize and become creative with these meals, as well as, and more importantly, having the ability to control what ingredients I put in my body. It was actually, well — fun. I quickly began to progress though, and found it thrilling to decide what recipe I would try my hand at next. Through research on YouTube and other resources on the internet, where I’ve done almost all of my learning, I quickly discovered a new passion, which I wasn’t half bad at.

Fast-forward to current day, my goals and reasoning for cooking haven’t changed much, yet as my interests and pursuits outside of food have began to mold, they have undoubtedly affected the way I perceive cooking. Not only is it an enjoyable hobby for me, but it has become a means to live more healthfully and has truly impacted the way I see the world. It has become a way for me to serve others, whether that’s through my physical food, my written recipes, or my photos and videos inspiring others to cook more.

Thanks for reading to the end of my little synopsis about myself and this journey. Now, go cook something.
